HSE Faculty of Pre-University Training offers a variety of programmes for prospective applicants. There are numerous Russian-taught courses for high school students and Master’s programme applicants.
There are also courses tailored for international applicants:
The programme aimed at international students with little or no knowledge of Russian. It helps them to later join Russian-taught full-degree programmes. Over 10 months of intensive study, students improve their basic language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), study in a chosen academic field (humanities, economics, or engineering), and adapt to the new educational environment. Upon completing Preparatory Year, students are expected to possess intermediate-level language skills (CEFR level B1, TRKI level 1) and be ready to enter the Russian-taught full-degree programs at HSE and other Russian universities.
The programme is designed to help international students improve their Russian language proficiency. The course is aimed at international students at elementary and pre-intermediate levels.
